The Importance of Infant CPR

Bill Schammert, a local news reporter for KOLN-TV in Lincoln, Neb recounts how he almost lost his infant son. Bill and his wife were taking their son to get a check up when they noticed he was turning purple in his car seat. This put them into a state of panic as they called 911. The operator was able to guide them through CPR which resulted in their son’s life being saved. Even though the couple said they had taken CPR training in the past, they had forgotten it. The tears in his eyes as he recounts the traumatic incident live on air speaks to the importance of not just getting trained in CPR, but getting trained on a yearly basis.
