The high school senior cheerleader was participating in a Home Coming parade when she noticed a toddler in the crowd choking and the frantic look on the mother’s face and cries for help instinctively told her it was a very serious situation.
Tyra Winters from Rockwell, Texas is being rightfully praised as a hero. She jumped off of her cheerleading float and immediately went into action to help save 2 year old, Clarke’s life as he was choking on a piece of candy. Tyra knew exactly what to do because her mother, who is in the healthcare field, trained her when she was an 8th grader. Without her intervention, this outcome could have easily ended tragically. Clarke’s mother admitted that she froze and did not know how to save her baby boy. She has since signed up for a lifesaving course on CPR/AED/Choking.
CPR Chicks just conducted a class in a personal home this morning with a local San Clemente coach, a new mother (and her beautiful 4 month old baby girl) and her grandmother.
